This is the complete audio of Sen. Bill Kintner's announcement Wednesday that he is resigning from the Nebraska Legislature. Kintner was under pressure from his colleagues for what some described as a pattern of behavior. Last year, he was fined $1,000 for engaging in cybersex on his state laptop. Last weekend, he retweeted a tweet about the Women's March that some interpreted as making a joke about sexual assault. The Legislature had been scheduled to debate his expulsion Wednesday. His resignation takes effect at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30. Gov. Pete Ricketts will appoint a replacement.
