The Nebraska volleyball team will play nine Big Ten home matches and eight away games during the upcoming season.
The conference on Monday announced volleyball opponent rotations, meaning Nebraska now knows who it will play at home and on the road but not the dates and times.
The Huskers will play Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin at the Devaney Center. NU's eight away matches will be against Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Oregon, Penn State and Washington.
The schedule will flip for 2027, with the Huskers playing its eight road opponents from this year at home, while it will visit the nine teams it played at home.
Nebraska and the other Big Ten schools had been playing 20 conference games, but that is changing this year due to the addition of the first-ever Big Ten volleyball tournament, which will be held Nov. 20-25 in Fishers, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. The games will be played at the 7,500-seat Fishers Event Center.
The nine Big Ten home games will be played in the newly expanded Devaney Center, which is adding about 1,700 seats to bring its capacity to 10,000. The expansion is expected to increase volleyball revenue from $4.5 million to $8 million per year, and season ticket holders are having to go through a reseating process.
Nebraska’s non-conference season is still under construction. So far the only games that have been announced are a Sept. 4 game at Depaul and a Sept. 6 game against Missouri that will be played at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
