You didn’t put away those snow shovels did you?
A late season snowstorm could dump up to 6 inches of snow in eastern Nebraska late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for seven eastern Nebraska counties, including Douglas and Sarpy counties. It’s scheduled to go into effect at 10 p.m. and last until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The weather service said 2-4 inches of wet snow could fall over the area, with local amounts up to 6 inches in spots.
“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the weather service said in a bulletin. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute.”
The snow is forecast to fall in a narrow band that will likely only affect extreme eastern Nebraska. Columbus could see an inch of snow, while Lincoln is not likely to have accumulating snow.
The snow that does fall will not stick around long. The temperature in Omaha on Tuesday will hover around 40 degrees, while the high Wednesday is expected to climb into the upper 60s.
