Nebraska Football head coach Matt Rhule on Saturday fired Donovan Raiola, the offensive line coach and uncle to starting quarterback Dylan Raiola.

A statement from Rhule to media said, "I informed Donovan Raiola today that he will not be retained as our offensive line coach. We thank Donovan for his contribution to Nebraska Football over the past four years and wish him the best moving forward."

Raiola was initially hired as the offensive coordinator in the Scott Frost head coaching era. Several media outlets reported that Rhule has sought out Georgia Tech's offensive line coach Geep Wade. Nebraska Public Media News has reached out to Nebraska Athletics for confirmation.

Nebraska's offensive line struggled under Raiola at times, giving up 30 quarterback sacks this year, including nine in one game against Minnesota.

This is the second known firing of a Husker Football coach this week. Rhule on Monday parted ways with defensive coordinator John Butler. Husker associate head coach Phil Snow will serve in the interim defensive coordinator spot for Nebraska's upcoming bowl game. Rhule said he will work toward naming a new defensive coordinator for the 2026 season in the coming weeks.

The Big Red finished the 2025 season 7-5, including back-to-back blowout losses to Penn State and Iowa to end the regular season. According to multiple reports, the Huskers will play Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 31. Bowl invitations will officially be extended on Sunday.
