Two Husker volleyball players and two Creighton volleyball players were selected Monday in the Major League Volleyball Draft.

The Atlanta Vibe selected Creighton senior Ava Martin as the No. 2 overall pick. The Omaha Supernovas picked senior Kiara Reinhardt, her teammate, with the No. 8 selection.

Martin, a 6-1 outside hitter, was named to the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List earlier this year. She recorded 30 kills in a November match against Marquette. In that same game, she recorded 32 points.

Reinhardt is a 6-3 middle blocker. She racked up 16 kills in early November during a match against Louisville. She recorded 8 blocks against Butler in a game in late September.

Indy Ignite picked Nebraska senior Taylor Landfair with the No. 28 pick overall. One pick later at No. 29, the Supernovas nabbed Husker senior Allie Sczech.

Landfair has been in regular rotations for the Nebraska Volleyball team, averaging 2.11 kills per set and 0.55 blocks per set. She’s hitting .322 on the season. In Big Ten matches, Landfair is hitting .362.

The 6-5 outside hitter was an AVCA All American and the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2022 at Minnesota. She transferred to Nebraska from Minnesota. Landfair had a season-high 12 kills with five digs in a 3-2 win at No. 18 Creighton in September. She had 11 kills and hit .550 at No. 22 Minnesota in early November.

Sczech transferred to Nebraska from Baylor before her senior year. The 6-4 opposite hitter has played in 26 sets and averages 1.65 kills per set and 0.58 blocks per set while hitting .394. Sczech put up 12 kills on .400 hitting against No. 6 Stanford in late August, marking her best match so far this season. Sczech was a two-time All-Big 12 Second Team selection at Baylor before transferring to Nebraska.

The MLV is the major recognized professional volleyball league in the U.S. In August, the Pro Volleyball Federation and Major League Volleyball announced a merger to form the unified MLV league. The group has the following team lineups for 2026: Atlanta, Columbus, Dallas, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Omaha, Orlando and San Diego. The league is planning on adding two more franchises, Washington D.C. and Northern California, in 2027.

In 2024, three Huskers were drafted in the Major League Volleyball draft: Merritt Beason, Lindsay Krause and Leyla Blackwell. Following the 2024 season, Lexi Rodriguez signed with LOVB Omaha, now LOVB Nebraska, which is in League One Volleyball, a separate professional women’s indoor volleyball league.
