Frequently Asked Questions
On May 15, 2021, NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations rebranded to become Nebraska Public Media. Through June 30, 2021, donations supported our legal 501(c)(3) nonprofits – the NET Foundation for Television (#23-7122088) and the NET Foundation for Radio (#47-0588533). Starting July 1, 2021, our two foundations merged, creating the Nebraska Public Media Foundation (#86-2239027). No changes are needed on your part. Your donations will continue to support the same quality programming and organization.

General Membership Questions
All donations are used to support the mission of Nebraska Public Media. Learn more in our annual report.
Contributions to the Nebraska Public Media Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The relevant law states “to the extent that tangible personal benefits are not received in return.” This means that if you receive a thank you gift for your contribution, you cannot claim the fair market value of the thank you gift for tax purposes. Your allowable deduction would be the amount of your contribution minus the fair market value of your thank you gift. If you have further questions concerning the tax deductibility of any of your contributions, please consult your tax advisor.
