2021 Class D1 Flashback

Howells-Dodge 3, Archbishop Bergan 1 The 2021 Class D1 state volleyball championship game showcased a match of #1 Howells-Dodge taking on #3 Archbishop Bergan. Despite losing the first set, Howells-Dodge kept on fighting, led by sisters Ellie and Grace Baumert. The sisters came alive in the third and fourth sets with a combined 25 kills. The two finished with a match-high 23 kills for the Jaguars. Grace added 12 digs and 5 blocks, whereas Ellie had 18 digs and 21 assists. The sister’s dominance was too much for Archbishop Bergan to handle, as Howells-Dodge completed their mission by winning their first volleyball state championship.
