Nebraska's love affair with the sport of volleyball wasn't built overnight. Starting in 1977, former Nebraska Volleyball head coach Terry Pettit made an intentional effort to grow the sport in the state. Upon retirement in 1999, the Godfather of Volleyball left a strong foundation for high school, club, and college coaches to build on in the 21st century.
