The instrument, the first of its kind built in America, is based on 18th- century french instruments. The film begins in France where Nebraskan, Gene Bedient researches Renaissance instruments. It proceeds to Lincoln, NE. where the Bedient crew spends a year building the instrument. The film concludes in Grand Rapids, MI. with installation & a performance.
