Originally created for an exhibit at the 1932 Adams County Fair, the vibrant Jacob Fisher Rainbow Fountain is a beloved summer landmark in Hastings. With its shimmering lights and colorful water displays, it has been a source of pride for generations. More than just a striking centerpiece, the fountain symbolizes the growing reach of rural electrification—celebrating a time when modern power was beginning to transform everyday life across the Plains.
Every summer night the fountain sprays a rainbow of colors.

In 1984, vandalism caused extensive damage to the fountain.
