On the December 22nd Friday LIVE Solstice and Christmas Special: Coro di Flauti flute choir performs; State Poet Twyla Hansen reads her poetry; Bob Hall reads a soldiers memories of a Christmas at Fort Robinson, provided by Nebraska History Museum and Nebraska State Historical Society; guitarist Daniel Martinez shares holiday traditions in Peru and plays; Phyllis Stone, Humanities Nebraska speaker and Elder of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, talks about her unique traditions; poet and teacher Dwaine Spieker reads his poems and talks about the book of Don Welch's poetry for which he won the 2017 Nebraska Book Award; Bluegrass band Midnight Wanderers plays their arrangement of a favorite winter tune; Vicki Wood with Lincoln City Libraries talks about winter reading, book gifts and upcoming events; Plymouth Brass plays a rag from one of their "Last Blast!" concerts; Cherrie Beam-Callaway, Humanities Nebraska speaker, shares a story from her Grandmother; and, the Executive Director of Abendmusik, Drew Duncan, sings, accompanied by the Executive Director of Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra, Barbara Zach, on piano.
