A Nebraska family shows where conservation and agriculture come together as they work with Nebraska Game and Parks to restore their ranch grasslands. The Hochstein family demonstrates how caring for the natural environment benefits not only their ranch, but also their community and the surrounding ecosystem. In the studio, Kyle Schumacher, Private Lands Biologist with Nebraska Game and Parks, talks about his work with the Hochstein family to transform their pasture back into thriving grassland habitat. This blend of science and stewardship continues at Prairie Plains Resource Institute, where host Carlee Moates visits with conservationists who gather native prairie seeds and use them to bring struggling landscapes back to life. Then we take a trip to Signal Butte, a windswept mesa that sits within a mosaic of prairie habitats.
