Storms on Monday night produced brief heavy rainfall and wind damage across northeast Nebraska counties. According to National Weather Service meteorologist Dirk Peterson, there reports of over four inches of rain, run-off from farm fields and road ditches full of water.

Peterson told Nebraska Public Media News that there was wind damage reported near Winside in Wayne County.

“Four miles southeast of Winside where we had damage to a shed due to winds.”

Wind gusts are estimated to have been over 50 miles per hour. Clean up in the affected areas will continue throughout the day.
