Students, faculty, and staff at the University of Nebraska at Omaha will be required to wear masks this fall. The rule is part of a program of health rules to help protect campus from the spread of COVID-19.

Students will be provided a mask and videos about the importance of masks and proper use.

UNO is also working to reduce density on campus by allowing some employees to work from home and considering options for remote or hybrid learning. UNO is also looking at their classroom spaces and how to best social distance classes.

Dr. Jane Meza is interim executive director for the office of health security at UNO.

“We know that students want to be safe and healthy and we want to prioritize health for our students, faculty, and staff," Meza said. "We know that students don’t want to risk taking the virus home to parents, grandparents, family members.”

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will also require masks in the fall.
