Members of the Omaha Fire Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Office recovered two bodies Tuesday morning from the Missouri River near N.P. Dodge Park in Omaha, according to media reports.
On Wednesday, the Omaha Fire Department in a social media post confirmed the bodies are those of Laiana Green, 18 and Eh Cress Moo, 11, who had been missing for two weeks. Searchers recovered the body of 18-year-old Lah K Tray Moo on Saturday.
On April 15, the three Omaha students went missing after fishing near the Missouri River with another girl. The search effort stretched from Omaha to as far south as Plattsmouth.
The four girls were fishing and got into the water near a boat dock, when they began floating down the river, according to Omaha Fire Department Battalion Chief Coby Werner. Only the 13-year-old girl made it to shore.
"We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of these girls," the social media post said. "The loss of these young lives has touched our entire community, and our hearts continue to be with you now and in the days ahead."
