Nebraska football is heading to the postseason for the first time since 2016.

The Huskers will make a bowl game after a 44-25 victory at home over Wisconsin Saturday.

The seven seasons of postseason drought was the longest among teams in the Power Four conferences, and it was tied for the third longest in all of Division I.

Prior to the win over the Badgers, Nebraska had only won one of its last 13 games in November – the final month of the regular season in college football.

With the bowl game goal mark reached, the Huskers have one more chance to build on their record.

They travel to Iowa City to face the Hawkeyes on Black Friday.

Nebraska stands at 6-5 after the win. Wisconsin dropped to 5-6.
