Three staff members and two students at Chadron State College in Nebraska’s Panhandle tested positive for coronavirus as classes at the school got underway this week.

“They are all five self-isolating in accordance with the CDC and Panhandle Public Health Department guidelines,” Chadron State spokesperson Tena Cook said. “The number of individuals who are in quarantine is not being shared right now.”

The school has an enrollment of around 2,800 students. Masks are required on campus and testing for students is available through Test Nebraska sites in the Chadron area. Classrooms have been set-up to allow for more distance between students. A small number of students are learning remotely, but most are on campus.
