The Sheldon Museum of Art is preparing to reopen to the public on Tuesday.
The museum, which has been closed since the shutdown in March, is following guidelines set by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to keep visitors safe.
Erin Hanas, Curator of Academic Engagement, said while the museum expects small numbers, it is exciting to be open again.
“[I’m] excited to see people here but also am really excited to continue building on virtual content that we’ve been doing and continuing to have more ways that individuals who might not be able to come into the museum to engage with our collection,” Hanas said.
Hanas said the exhibitions being shown are those that were there in the spring when the shutdown occurred. She said groups planning to visit should submit a request online to ensure the museum does not run over the limited capacity.
