Second Finalist for Lincoln Chief of Police Speaks at Public Forum

The second of four finalists for Chief of the Lincoln Police Department says she would be “communicator-in-chief” if she’s chosen for the job. Teresa Ewins is currently a Commander with the San Francisco, California Police Department and spoke at a public forum Tuesday night. She said to change the narrative of the police, departments must learn from past mistakes and listen to the community.
"So in looking at the state of policing, we have to always learn. We learn from our mistakes, we learn from our successes, and that's how we move forward."
Tonight Darryl McSwain, Chief of Police for the Maryland-National Capital Park will introduce himself as a candidate. The final candidate, former Police Chief of Mesa, Arizona, Ramon Batista, will present on Thursday. The remaining public forums will be held at 5:30 p.m. central at the Auld Recreation Center and will also be aired on the LNKTV YouTube channel.
