The University of Nebraska has hired a new defensive coordinator to lead the football squad, in addition to two other assistants.

John Butler will lead the defense, according to a report by ESPN.

Butler was hired as the interim defensive coordinator, after Tony White left for Florida State. He coached the secondary this season for Nebraska.

Also according to ESPN, Terry Bradden will likely coach defensive linemen and Phil Snow will become the associate head coach in Lincoln.
