Thursday marks the start of the 66th annual Willa Cather Spring Conference in Red Cloud, Nebraska. It’s a yearly gathering of fans of the Nebraska author in the town where she spent part of her life. This year’s conference will focus on her work in relation to newspapers and magazines.

Marketing Coordinator Catherine Pond said Cather helped shape the culture of her time and recommends anyone who is inspired by Cather’s work to attend.

"It's a great way to learn more about Willa Cather as a writer. And also to experience the place where she grew up, which really shaped so much of her writing,” Pond said.

On Friday, editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair magazine, Radhika Jones, will deliver the keynote address online. The conference will be held virtually, with an option to attend in-person events in Red Cloud on Saturday. For more information click here for the full agenda and registration information.
