Record High for New COVID Cases in One Day for Douglas County

Nebraska’s most populated county reported its highest one-day total of new COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

There were 1,866 new COVID positives discovered in Douglas County for tests received before the end of the day Thursday. Additionally, the Douglas County Health Department says two more deaths were attributed to COVID-19.

Adult ICU beds are 90-percent full at Douglas County hospitals. According to the county’s report, 139 staffed beds are open, which are 12 fewer beds available compared to the day before.
