The Omaha FBI office will be holding a diversity agent recruitment event in August.

The FBI’s Diversity Agent Recruitment event in Omaha aims to bring in new recruits, highlighting a diversity of cultures, languages, ethnicities, and genders. Special agent Michele Stevenson is the application coordinator for the Omaha FBI office. She said these efforts will improve representation across the bureau.

“We believe it is terribly important for the FBI to represent the communities that we serve. It makes us more effective, it makes communities see themselves in us. In order to do that, we need to broaden and grow our diverse population of employees,” she said.

The event, which will be held on August 3rd, will feature information on careers in the FBI. While multiple positions within the bureau will be represented, Stevenson said an emphasis is being placed on recruiting special agents.

“Any interested individual that might think that someday would like to work at the FBI can come and learn about a variety of positions, the special agent position in particular, and then learn about the process to get hired,” she said.

Other FBI positions covered at the event include mechanics, technicians, analysts, evidence response, and more.

To apply online for the Diversity Agent Recruitment event, go to the FBI's website. Walk-ins will not be permitted.
