Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson has decided not to file any criminal charges against former State Senator Mike Groene.

Groene resigned after photographs of a female staffer were found on his laptop computer.

The decision comes after a review by the Nebraska State Patrol over accusations that Groene took inappropriate pictures of the staffer without her knowledge. A spokesperson for the Attorney General said that after a review of the NSP investigation it was determined that there was insufficient information to warrant a criminal prosecution.

In April, Groene told Nebraska Public Media’s Fred Knapp he felt he had done nothing wrong and that he took bad advise from the Governor and others who urged him to step down.
