It’s home sweet home this week for Nebraska softball.

The No. 4 overall seed Huskers are hosting the first super regional in program history against former Big 12 Conference opponent and No. 13 overall seed Oklahoma State starting on Thursday. All-American pitcher and first baseman Jordy Frahm said the Huskers had a fun practice on Wednesday.

“We're singing Michael Jackson. We're having fun, and that is a huge part of this group, is just having the joy in the little moments in between pitches,” Frahm said. “And I would say I feel really great about where we're at.”

This year’s team is playing with lots of confidence toward its potential, Frahm said.

Thursday’s game one is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT. Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle joked about how that might conflict with her current schedule, but how the team is ready for a late-night game.

“I think they'll be fine, because it's about the time they wake up,” Revelle said. “I'm gonna have to take a nap. I'm halfway through my night of sleep, usually by 8 o’clock, so [I] might have to caffeinate a little bit.”

The coach added that she anticipates the pace and adrenaline of the game to be high, regardless of first pitch time. The first team to win twice in the best-of-three series will head to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, which starts May 28 and runs until June 5.

The first super regional game between NU and OSU will be televised on ESPN2. Friday’s contest is at 4 p.m. CT and also on ESPN2. A Saturday game is only needed if the teams go 1-1 in the first two games. The potential winner-take-all game is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on ESPN.
