Nebraska's men's basketball team dropped four spots to No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 on Monday, following a 20-0 start and two straight losses last week.
The Huskers hit the top five for the first time in program history last week, when they were ranked No. 5. That was also the highest ranking ever for Division I basketball programs in the state. Creighton has been ranked No. 7 multiple times in the last decade.
But the Big Red lost games against now-No. 2 Michigan on Tuesday, 75-72, and at home versus now-No. 5 Illinois on Sunday, 78-69.
At 20-2 overall and tied for third in the Big Ten Conference, the Huskers will have five days off for some much-needed rest before traveling to play Rutgers at 11 a.m. Saturday.
