The Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha are seeing more kids being admitted for COVID-19. Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine Dr. Russell McCulloh said the majority of outbreaks are not from school exposure.
“The increase has been, in particular over the last two or three weeks, it parallels pretty well with the increase in community spread," McColluh said.
Dr. Russell said the increase in infection rates will continue to rise because the virus takes two weeks to incubate in the body and symptoms show up days later. He said it depends on the public to practice social distancing for transmission to decrease.
