Mike Flood is now officially the U.S. Representative for Nebraska’s First Congressional District.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who Flood often criticized during his campaign, held a swearing-in ceremony for Flood in Washington, D.C. Tuesday evening.

Flood was joined by his family during the ceremony.

He won the special election to replace Jeff Fortenberry for the remainder of his term. Fortenberry resigned after being convicted of lying to the F-B-I.

There will be a rematch between Flood and Democrat Patty Pansing Brooks in November to be elected to the seat for a full two-year term.
