Mike Foley hasn’t announced if he’ll run for political office in 2022, after his eighth and final year as Nebraska's Lieutenant Governor.

Foley said he’s weighing his options and that he has more to offer Nebraskans as a public servant.

“I’ve kind of held back a little bit to give it more discernment, more prayer and thought, discussion with my family to see where I can fit in best, and where I can make a contribution to public service” he said. “I do intend to be heavily involved in the political scene next year in that next election cycle.”

Foley worked as a state senator beginning in 2001, then became the state’s public accounts auditor in 2007. He was elected as Governor Pete Ricketts gubernatorial running mate in the 2014 election, taking over as Lieutenant Governor the following year.
