The Lincoln Children’s Museum will hold a Parking Lot Pare Down Sale on Monday from 7-10 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. The museum has collected over 30 years of extra toys, props and exhibits. In anticipation of new toys, they’ve decided to share their treasures with parents and educators in the community.
Teachers will have early access to the sale items on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. There’s a wide variety of items being sold, including a massive pizza parlor shop set, that are all still in good condition.
Aftan Reinsch is the marketing and communications manager for the Children's Museum. She invites families to come and play, but also take advantage of the sale, so the fun continues at home.
"I think it's just a really cool opportunity for families to take a piece of Lincoln history or a unique item that the museum has had in the past and take it home with them," Reinsch said.
The museum also looks at the event as a potential fundraiser. Because of limited capacity during the pandemic, museum attendance has declined over the past few months.
