After more than a week of spring practices, Nebraska Football head coach Scott Frost said many Husker athletes are contending for time on the field.

“I’d say we have more depth and more guys capable of competing for and threatening for playing time and starting jobs,” Frost said, “And that picks up the intensity of the competition a lot and pushes guys even harder.”

Frost said he loved the energy of his players and assistant coaches from the first five practices of the spring. At this point, he said newcomers are still learning and settling into the team.

Nebraska practices nine more times before hitting Memorial Stadium’s turf for this year’s spring game on April 9.
