Nebraska Head Football Coach Scott Frost said he and his new assistant coaches have been creating a different offensive system together. Frost said the previous coaching staff understood the offense, but there weren’t many fresh ideas to try. The coach said with the new coaching staff there are new ideas.

“Now it’s kind of flipped. We have a lot of fresh ideas and a little bit of a language barrier, but we’ve been meeting a lot,” Frost said. “Gosh, there’s smart guys in that room and good coaches in that room. We’ve been, like I said going into the hiring, we’ve been trying to marry the systems and I think [the coaches] have done a good job of that so far.”

In December, Frost and the program hired Mark Whipple to coordinate the offense. In total, Nebraska has hired four coaches on offense since the end of last season.

This will be Frost's fifth season as the Huskers’ head coach. His first four teams combined for a 15-27 overall record and a 10-23 record in Big Ten Conference play.
