Husker volleyball outside hitter Merritt Beason has been picked first overall in the Pro Volleyball Federation draft.
The senior will play for the Atlanta Vibe. Beason started her career at Florida University, before transferring to Nebraska last year.
She’s second on the team with 277 kills and 23 service aces.
Creighton University’s Norah Sis was also drafted, taken third overall by Orlando.
Both in-state programs are ranked in the top five nationally, with the regular season winding down.
The regular season wraps up this weekend for the Cornhuskers. They play Penn State on Friday and compete against Maryland on Saturday.
The Bluejays will play in the Big East Conference Tournament starting Wednesday. Creighton is hosting the tournament this year at D.J. Sokol Arena.
