Authorities are investigating after human remains were found west of Lincoln near the last known location of a Lincoln man who went missing more than a year ago.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what was described as a suspicious death near Highway 77 and West Pioneers Boulevard.
A press release from the department stated that at approximately 9:43 a.m. Saturday, authorities were dispatched to the wooded area at the northwest corner after human remains were found.
During the preliminary investigation, crime scene technicians observed the body had been at the location for an extended period of time. Based on details at the scene, including the location and proximity to Tyler Goodrich’s last known location, investigators have been in contact with Goodrich’s family.
Goodrich has been missing since November 3, 2023 following a domestic disturbance.
The investigation is being treated as a suspicious death, not a homicide, and is still ongoing to confirm the individual’s identity. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, March 10.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will provide an update with more details during a live streamed press briefing on Monday, March 10 at 9:30 a.m.
