It has been a century since Europe was devastated by what once was celebrated as the war to end all wars. Germany’s battle against Europe and America is being re-examined as centennial events unfold.

One historian and author, David Reynolds, argues World War One is being overlooked despite its important lessons about the need for diplomacy.

Nebraskans may not realize two of its political giants, Congressman George Norris and U.S. Senator Gilbert Hitchcock played important roles in the debate over America's involvement in The Great War.

Recently Reynolds spoke about the topic with Bill Kelly of NET News prior to the academic's appearance in the state to give the annual Governor's Lecture in the Humanities for Humanities Nebraska on October 1, 2015.
