Nebraska State Senator Tom Brewer and four other senators have finished their climb up Mount Kilimanjaro and have started the trek down the mountain.

The team reached Kilimanjaro’s summit of 19,000-plus feet in elevation around 11:00 p.m. Central Time last night. According to the latest update, 15,000-feet is their height above sea level, as they continue traveling down the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Conditions around Tanzania’s inactive volcano are sporadic with temperatures ranging from 80 degrees to below zero.

Senators Ben Hansen, Justin Wayne, Anna Wishart, and Dave Murman are the other senators who made it atop the East African peak.
