In support of a recent federal resolution, the Nebraska Poor People’s Campaign held two rallies outside of Nebraska representatives' offices in Omaha and Grand Island. The group said it was voicing opposition to systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, and the denial of health care. The group's Third Reconstruction Resolution demands Congress and the country address poverty from the bottom up.

Nebraska PPC chair Angela Montalvo said their goal is to get some momentum behind the resolution throughout a year-long push. She said one of their main objectives is to raise the minimum wage, which would help many living in poverty. For more information, you can view the Nebraska Poor People's Campaign on Facebook.
