Governor Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore have proclaimed the next few days as a Weekend of Remembrance and Honor for Nebraskans lost to the coronavirus pandemic.

First Lady Shore said this painful time is an opportunity to brace and support our fellow Nebraskans when they need it the most.

"Through this 'Weekend of Remembrance and Honor,' we want to spend some time reflecting on the loss and challenges that we've experienced and begin a long period of healing," she said. "This weekend we encourage all Nebraskans to spend time acknowledging and honoring those who've died."

Governor Ricketts also proclaimed Sunday as a Statewide Day of Prayer. He encourages the public to submit photos, stories, and testimonies to Nebraska Impact’s virtual memorial wall to honor loved ones lost due to the pandemic.
