Nebraska fans will be treated to a doubleheader of big-time football and volleyball games on Oct. 10.

Nebraska Athletics announced Monday the Big Noon Kickoff pregame show will be at a home Husker football game for the first time since 2022. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central time vs. No. 6 Indiana, the defending national champion.

Meanwhile, Fox will also broadcast No. 1 Nebraska vs. No. 6 Wisconsin on the volleyball court at 6 p.m.

The last time Big Noon Kickoff was in Lincoln, the Huskers were blasted by Oklahoma, 49-14. NU hasn’t won a Big Noon game in seven tries. With that important contest against Indiana more than a week away, on Monday, head football coach Matt Rhule wanted to keep his team hungry, following a 31-13 win against Michigan State.

“They didn't pick us to win very many games this year, did they?” Rhule said. “We're just going to scrap and battle and fight, right? And I do like that part about us.”

Nebraska has Maryland on the schedule this week, which will be broadcast at 3 p.m. on Fox Sports One. Maryland is 2-2 and has dropped back-to-back games, including a 54-3 home loss to UCLA on Saturday.

But Rhule pointed out the game was more closely contested than the score would indicate, with a couple of costly interceptions widening the margin. The head coach said teams can bounce back in mysterious ways, like his team did in 2024.

“We lost 56-7 to Indiana two years ago, and we came back and we didn't win the next week against Ohio State, but we played pretty dang well,” Rhule said.

That was a 21-17 road loss to eventual national champion Ohio State, where the Buckeyes used a fourth-quarter touchdown and interception to seal the game.

On the volleyball front, Dani Busboom Kelly’s team has lost just three sets all year and will enter a Thursday night match against Penn State with a 13-0 record — not including a 2-0 showing against No. 5 SMU and No. 7 Florida at the Spikes Under the Lights exhibition tournament in the Dallas area.

Wisconsin is 8-4 on the season with marquee wins against No. 4 Louisville, Florida, No. 10 Purdue, No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 17 Oregon.
