Creighton coach breaks school record for most wins

Greg McDermott broke the school record for most wins as a head coach for the Creighton men’s basketball program Wednesday night.
The win against Houston Christian was the 328th win for McDermott while leading the Bluejays.
In his 15th season, the head coach passed his friend Dana Altman on the all-time wins list at Creighton. Altman now coaches the Oregon Ducks.

McDermott’s Bluejays have made the NCAA Tournament in nine of his 13 full years as a head coach in Omaha. McDermott has won 67% of his games at Creighton.
The pandemic canceled the 2020 NCAA Tournament.
The Bluejays defeated Houston Christian, 78-43 on Wednesday. Creighton next plays against Kansas City (UMKC) at home on Saturday.
