Pinnacle Bank Arena has been busy since they opened their doors in 2013, but then the pandemic hit. Every major event, concert, or show in the arena is either canceled or rescheduled to 2021.
General Manager Tom Lorenz said they were one of the first ones to be affected by the COVID shutdown since large gatherings were banned.
“We've maintained some staffing throughout the year, especially at the beginning when we weren't sure how long the shutdown would be," Lorenz said. "I don't think any of us expected businesses and certainly the event business to close for such a long time.”
Since the shutdown, Pinnacle Bank Arena has hosted seven graduations and an MMA fighting event with extra health precautions. Distanced seating, multiple building entryways, and mask mandates are some of the steps the arena has worked with the local health department on to keep the venue safe.
