Chadron, Alliance Will Continue Flights to Denver, Colorado With EAS Contract Renewal

Flights from rural Nebraska towns to Denver, Colorado will continue with the recent approval of an Essential Air Service contract for two years.

Essential Air Service is a national program that provides small communities with direct airline service to larger airports.

Southern Airways Express will provide weekly round trip flights from Chadron to Denver starting in June and Denver Air Connection will continue providing flights from Alliance to Denver.

Milo Rust is Chadron’s interim city manager and he said Chadron is excited to have Southern Airways Express to provide reliable flights to Denver.

“They actually have better connections in Denver with bigger airlines. A, if you want to go to Chicago or Dallas or LA, you have that opportunity to make those connections a little easier,” Rust said.

Rust said the flights on Southern Airways Express will start in June with 12 weekly flights to Denver.
