Cellulosic ethanol slow to meet expectations

Cellulosic ethanol is made from plant material like wood, corn stover, or specialized crops like switchgrass. The federal government is requiring larger amounts of cellulosic ethanol to be added to fuel every year, but so far the industry has been unable to keep up with the government's goals.
