Starting Monday, Bryan Medical Center patients will be allowed to have one healthy adult support person with them.

The new guidelines exclude patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Vice President of Advancement Bob Ravenscroft said having to restrict visitors has been one of the hardest operational challenges from dealing with the pandemic.

"There were nurses, techs, physicians, security personnel, and members of our facility team that were taking the roles of families and volunteers during this time," Ravenscroft said. "There were really some heartbreaking situations. So we're pleased to reveal some loosening of these standards."

All adult visitors must wear masks and pass screening and temperature checks.
