Big Ten softball tournament coming to Lincoln this spring

The Big Ten Softball tournament is heading to Lincoln in mid-May.
Husker Athletics announced Thursday that Bowlin Stadium will host the conference championship for the second time ever. Nebraska also hosted the event in 2013.
The athletic department touted high attendance numbers at Bowlin Stadium in recent years. There were nine games last season that brought in more than 3,000 fans.
“We are honored that Nebraska and Bowlin Stadium have been selected as the host site for the 2027 Big Ten Tournament,” head coach Rhonda Revelle said. “Our staff will take pride in putting on a first-class event. The environment at Bowlin Stadium will be electric.”
NU won last year’s conference crown with a win against UCLA. That tournament was hosted by Maryland.
The Huskers tied the school record for wins in a season last year with 52 and reached the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2013. But this spring, they will need to replace star pitcher and first baseman Jordy Frahm, who holds several hitting and pitching school records.
Key contributors Ava Kuszak, Hannah Coor, Kacie Hoffman and Hannah and Lauren Camenzind were also seniors last year. Pitcher Alexis Jensen will be a sophomore this season and is expected to return following a strong freshman campaign. Starters Jesse Farrell and Samantha Bland headline the returners in the field.
Frahm will be sticking around Lincoln, joining the coaching staff as an assistant. Coor and the Camenzind twins will also stay in Lincoln as graduate assistants or managers.
