A record-setting tight end has announced he’s leaving the Nebraska Football program.

Friday’s contest against Iowa will be Austin Allen's last game as a Husker. The Aurora, Nebraska native made the announcement in a Twitter video earlier this week.

“Nebraska just isn’t another stop on the map for me, this is home,” the team captain said in the video. He also thanked Husker fans for showing up every Saturday to support the team, and that the Husker faithful will always have a place in his heart.

Allen will leave Nebraska with three records for tight ends. He holds the record for most receiving yards in a game, set last week against Wisconsin, where he recorded 143 yards. He’ll leave Nebraska with the greatest single-season, in terms of total receptions, with 36 this year. Also, his two 100-yard receiving games are a single-season record for the Huskers.
