Athletic spending at universities remains controversial

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletic department has a $74 million budget this year and other schools spend even more on sports. A newly-released survey by the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics shows many university presidents believe this level of spending is unsustainable and that changes are needed. A group of top sports scholars recently discussed the topic of money and college athletics with Mike Tobias of NET Television.
