Acting U.S. Attorney Appointed for Nebraska

The lawsuits allege that Meta intentionally designed its social media apps to be addictive to children and teens, taking advantage of psychological vulnerabilities to make a profit.

A career prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office has been named the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska.

Steven A. Russell will take over next week for retiring U.S. Attorney Jan Sharp.

Russell is a 1982 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law, and he has been with the U.S. Attorney’s office since 1985.

He will remain in the post until President Joe Biden appoints a new U.S. Attorney for Nebraska.
