A career prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office has been named the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska.

Steven A. Russell will take over next week for retiring U.S. Attorney Jan Sharp.

Russell is a 1982 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law, and he has been with the U.S. Attorney’s office since 1985.

He will remain in the post until President Joe Biden appoints a new U.S. Attorney for Nebraska.
