NPR’s ‘Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!’ Coming Live to Omaha
LINCOLN, Neb. (July 30, 2026) – One of public radio’s most popular shows is coming to Omaha this fall. NPR Presents “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” with Nebraska Public Media. NPR’s Peabody Award-winning comedy news quiz show will record a live performance at 7:30 p.m. CT, Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. CT, Friday, July 31, on the Ticket Omaha website at ticketomaha.com/WWDTM.
Host Peter Sagal and Scorekeeper Alzo Slade will lead a rotating panel of comedians, writers, listener contestants and celebrity guests through a fast-paced review of the week’s news. Contestants will compete in the show’s popular games and vie for its signature prize: a custom-recorded voicemail greeting from a cast member.
Each week, “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” records before a live audience. Attendees at the live shows hear the jokes, commentary and conversations before the show is edited for broadcast, offering a unique, behind-the-scenes experience unavailable to radio and podcast listeners.
Panelists scheduled to appear so far include Emmy Award-winning comedian, actress and writer Dulcé Sloan and Emmy Award-winning writer, comedian and regular panelist Josh Gondelman.
The celebrity guest will be announced at a later date. Panelists and guests are subject to change without notice.
“Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” regularly airs at 9 a.m. CT, Saturdays and 10 a.m. CT on Sundays on Nebraska Public Media’s radio network. The episode recorded in Omaha is scheduled to premiere Saturday, Sept. 26.
