New Radio Shows Join Weekend Favorites on Nebraska Public Media
LINCOLN, Neb. (May 18, 2026) – Nebraska Public Media is refreshing its weekend radio schedule with new programs and an updated lineup. Beginning Saturday, June 20, listeners will discover a mix of beloved public radio favorites and innovative additions, offering a chance to discover something new. The schedule and new program highlights are available at NebraskaPublicMedia.org/weekends.
“We know listeners build their weekends around these shows,” said Nebraska Public Media Radio Network Director Cathy Bradberry. “We wanted to keep the NPR favorites our listeners count on while making room for some fresh voices and new sounds.”
On Saturdays, the weekend lineup begins with the investigative radio show “Reveal,” followed by public radio staples such as “Weekend Edition Saturday” and “Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” which moves to a new time slot at 9 a.m. CT. New additions such as “The Sam Sanders Show” and “Tiny Desk Radio” bring a fresh blend of culture, conversation and music. Midday programming includes “It’s Been a Minute,” “Wild Card with Rachel Martin” and “Hidden Brain,” alongside returning favorites “Radiolab” and “This American Life.”
On Sundays, the network balances consistency and discovery with “Weekend Edition Sunday,” “The Moth Radio Hour” and “This Old House Radio Hour,” joined by “Fresh Air Weekend” and “Sports in America with David Greene.” “Tiny Desk Radio” also airs again on Sunday mornings.
Bradberry added that local radio programming is also part of the update. Weekend host Phoenixx Carrol will debut “Flow Lab,” a new show highlighting hip-hop, R&B, soul and dance music.
